Poker
Tips 1 - You don't need to play every hand you are
dealt. If you are dealt a bad hand its ok to go ahead and fold
instead of trying to buff your way through a game. Even through
you've folded, you can still "stay in the game" by
watching the others play. Use this time to learn what their
"signs" are so that you can use them to your advantage
in the future.

Tips 2 - Watch
the alcohol consumption while you're playing. While there are
times when you're playing your friends when it's ok, but if
your in a serious game, you don't want to do anything that will
cause you to loose your concentration.

Tips 3 - Always pay attention to those you are playing against.
Everyone has their little signs or tells that give away what
they are thinking or feeling. Remember what they are so that
you will begin to notice what they do when they have a good
hand or a bad hand, it will help you make your decision to stay
or fold.

Tips 4 - Know what your skill level is and let that determine
what game your play. If you're a beginner, jumping into a high
stakes game is a bad idea. Also, just because you're winning
a lot at a low stakes game does not mean you will win as much
when you go up in the stakes. Remember, the higher the stakes,
the better the player.
Poker
Tips 5 - In addition to knowing whether your hand is good
or not, you have to remember to watch the cards that get put
on the table. This will help you to know what possibilities
have been eliminates. Cards and card combinations that are down
are no longer in play, so you know your opponent can't have
them.
